Month-Long Studio Projects
One question held open for four weeks — researched, tested and revised until the work is genuinely the child's own.

Tilbury, Ontario · Ages 3.9 – 8
An after-school atelier where children research, revise and exhibit real work — with time enough to make it theirs.

About the Atelier
Most after-school art programs move fast: a new theme every session, a finished craft to take home by the end of the hour. Reggio Studio moves differently.
Each month, every child works on one project — researched, developed, revised, and finally exhibited to family and friends. This is the Reggio Emilia approach: children as capable researchers, materials as a form of language, and time as the one ingredient that turns a drawing into real work.
We intentionally keep our ateliers small — two atelieristas to ten children — so every child gets real time with materials and with the adults guiding them.
What We Offer
A single afternoon is enough to make a leaf collage. A month is enough for a child to arrive at a piece that's genuinely theirs.
One question held open for four weeks — researched, tested and revised until the work is genuinely the child's own.
Returning to clay, paint or wire week after week builds real technique: pinch, coil, score-and-slip — not a one-time souvenir.
Drawing, paint, clay, wire, collage, light and shadow — children discover a single idea can be answered in many ways.
Photos, quotes and observations tracking your child's process from first sketch to final piece, written up each project.
The studio becomes a proper show — work displayed, labelled and opened to families, with children narrating their own pieces.
A 2:10 ratio, Monday through Thursday at 4:00 pm and 5:30 pm, so no child works without an atelierista nearby.
Places are limited by design — ten children per atelier.

Only what we can stand behind — the ratio, the documentation, the exhibit, and the time it takes to do it properly.
Led by trained atelieristas who curate the environment, listen deeply to children's ideas, document their learning and honour where each investigation leads next.
An evolving rhythm of inquiry from September to June, thoughtfully curated materials and opportunities to make children's thinking, discoveries and creations, visible through documentation and exhibition.
Based in Tilbury and built for families across Chatham-Kent and Essex County.
Clear tuition, clear ratios, clear expectations.
Each investigation unfolds through a Learning Story, making children's thinking and discoveries visible through photographs, children's words, and atelieristas observations gathered over time.
Families tell us children ask to keep working at home, unprompted — the clearest sign the work belongs to them.

Reggio Studio — Tilbury, Ontario
Groups are intentionally mixed to encourage natural mentorship, allowing younger children to learn by observing and interacting with older peers, while older children grow in confidence, empathy, leadership, and responsibility as role models within the classroom community.
Classes run from September 2026 through June 2027. Monday - Thursday with your choice of 4pm - 5pm and 5:30pm - 6:30pm.
Tuition is billed monthly and includes all materials. A Learning Story for each project and an invitation to our monthly Exhibition & Gallery Night, celebrating the children's investigations and creations.
Ten children with two atelieristas. We keep ateliers intentionally small so each child has meaningful time to explore the materials and build a relationship with an atelierista who knows them and their work well.
Technique compounds when children return to the same material week after week. A month gives a child time to test, revise and arrive at work that is genuinely theirs — and to hold a question or questions over time.
Call 289-214-8432 or send the contact form and we'll confirm availability and arrange a studio visit. We're based in Tilbury and welcome families from across Chatham-Kent and Essex County.
